On 6 October 2026, partners gathered in Brussels, hosted by EEIP, for EENOVA’s final in-person consortium meeting. With three years of work behind us and the project approaching its end, the day brought together a reflection on what we have achieved, an honest look at the remaining tasks and a discussion about what comes next.
Looking back across the five regions
Project coordinator ConPlusUltra opened the meeting with an overview of progress, lessons learned and priorities for the final stage. Regional partners then shared their experiences from the fourth roundtable, looking back at how the methodology had developed through all four rounds in Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Romania.
These updates brought together the different perspectives gained along the way: from assessing companies’ energy use and identifying improvements to exploring cooperation across value chains, discussing policy conditions and considering how the approach could be applied elsewhere. The regional accounts were followed by an overall work package summary, giving partners the opportunity to reflect on the full process and the lessons emerging across the pilots.

Preparing for the event and completing the work
With the final public event taking place the following day, part of the meeting focused on the last organisational arrangements. Partners also rehearsed their contributions, making sure the regional experiences and project findings would come together clearly for the audience.
Beyond the event, there is still work to complete. EEIP outlined the outstanding inputs and next steps for the final communication and dissemination report, which will evaluate the project’s outreach and activities. Alongside this, the exploitation plan is being prepared to support the uptake and continued use of EENOVA’s results.
What happens after EENOVA?
An important part of the discussion concerned how to sustain the project’s outputs once the funded work ends. Partners considered how the methodology, knowledge and relationships developed over three years could continue to support businesses and inform further cooperation.
Letters of intent are being collected to document interest in taking the work forward, while the exploitation plan will set out how the results can remain useful and accessible. Partners also exchanged ideas for follow-up projects, drawing on the experience gained and the opportunities identified through the regional work.
The meeting marked the last time partners would meet in person within EENOVA, with a shared commitment to completing the final outputs and giving the work a future beyond the project.
Thank you to all partners for three years of collaboration and for the continued effort as we bring the remaining work together.
